As you’ve seen on the Facebook site, I did purchase your Perfectly Bitless attachments! I do think it is really great. I just finished placing an order for another one – just a little bigger – for my 1/2 Percheron. I have had him from a baby since I was 12 years old, the first horse I ever bought by myself; he will be 12 in May. That makes me feel a little old, even though I’m not! Oh my.

Emma ButtkeAnyway, I love the knobs on the nose – I have used rope halters for years and love them, and this reminds me of that – just adds extra control. This is great for my half draft, he is soft in the face and very sensitive to pressure, but he is like a freight train at times and requires strong hands. He does not like a lot of curb pressure and is extremely fidgety with a bit. I have tried rope halters and rope tied Indian hackamores – but they were too soft and wouldn’t give much of a correction to him. I made your Bitless Bridle fit him (somehow!) yesterday and rode him for awhile in it and he was like a different horse. We weren’t outside of the corral, but it was just something I could feel. Excited to receive the larger one and see how it goes from there! :)

Now on the other hand, I have ground driven him quite a bit, and would love to be able to use him for pleasure driving! Any advice you could give would be great, and I do know of some folks around here that could assist me as well. Thanks so much for your input! :) Emma Buttke

Hi Michaella, We are doing great and looking forward to more riding and camping this year, what happened to Ramonette kind of puts a damper on it for me as she is my riding buddy. Last year it was me, now it’s her but hopefully she won’t be out of commission too long. When this happened she was using the Bitless Bridle on Rosie and I really think if she would have had the bit in her mouth she could have pulled her over on top of her because it was so sudden when the mare shied out from under her she was left with only the reins to hang on to before she finally let go to hit the ground. It was scary, she seems to be doing a little better; but is still in quite a bit of pain but is up and moving around, she’s is a tough lady and is already grumbling about missing out on riding time LOL! Thanks for checking on us and look forward to seeing you again soon.
